Andrew Gonzalez

Dr. Andrew Gonzalez is Professor of Biology and Liber Ero Chair in Conservation Biology at McGill University, where he also serves as Founding Director of the Quebec Centre for Biodiversity Science. His research examines biodiversity responses to environmental change through combined theoretical and experimental approaches.

Research focuses on ecosystem resilience, evolutionary adaptation to habitat fragmentation, and conservation policy. His lab develops predictive models of ecological network dynamics under climate change and anthropogenic pressures.

Honors include the Killam Fellowship and Liber Ero Chair. Current projects involve designing connected protected area networks that integrate biodiversity conservation with sustainable development goals.
