Andrew Friedman is a Senior Fellow in the Human Rights Initiative at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Law. His prior roles include serving as a Democracy Officer at USAID's Bureau for Africa, where he provided strategic guidance on democracy and governance, and consulting for UN agencies on constitutional reform and transitional justice.
His research focuses extensively on:
