Kent Greenfield is a Professor and Dean’s Distinguished Scholar at Boston College Law School. His expertise spans constitutional law, corporate governance, and corporate accountability. He authored influential books, including Corporations are People Too, and contributes to legal discourse through amicus briefs in landmark Supreme Court cases like Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission and 303 Creative v. Elenis. A former clerk to Supreme Court Justice David Souter, Greenfield has practiced law at Covington & Burling and lectures globally on civil rights and corporate responsibility.
Greenfield’s research bridges law and social justice, focusing on corporate personhood, First Amendment rights, and ethical corporate conduct. He founded the Forum for Academic and Institutional Rights, challenging the Pentagon’s anti-LGBTQ policies, and advocates for progressive legal reforms to address corporate accountability and human rights violations. His work has appeared in leading journals like the Yale Law Journal and Virginia Law Review.
Award-winning educator, he has received four teaching awards at Boston College and was honored as Faculty Advisor of the Year by the American Constitution Society.
