Professor Andrew Francis is the Deputy Faculty Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Manchester Law School at Manchester Metropolitan University. He previously held professorial roles at the University of Leeds and Keele University, where he also served as Head of the School of Law. His research focuses on legal profession regulation, legal technology's disruptive impact, and professional ethics. He actively collaborates with legal regulators, professional bodies, and firms to bridge education and practice.
Professor Francis has a career-long commitment to legal education reform, equality/diversity, and access to justice. Key roles include co-authoring the landmark 2020 Lawyers in 21st Century Societies report and serving as an Associate Academic Fellow of Inner Temple since 2014.
