Dr Andrew Clements is a Lecturer in Work Psychology at Aston University's College of Business and Social Sciences, within the Work and Organisations (WON) department. He holds professional registrations as an occupational psychologist with the HCPC and serves as Honorary Treasurer for the British Psychological Society's Division of Occupational Psychology. His roles include co-Programme Director for MSc Business Psychology and MSc Work Psychology and Business, and module leader for 'People and World Organisations' (BHM357J). He also teaches 'Workplace Design & Health' (BHM356).
Dr Clements earned his PhD from the University of Bedfordshire (2012), focusing on student nurses' experiences of support. His research emphasizes workplace psychological wellbeing, organizational factors affecting employees, and motivation in career behaviors. He has advised organizations in healthcare, policing, and penal systems.
His scholarly work spans prison officer wellbeing, presenteeism, and the World Café method for collaborative problem-solving. Notable contributions include systematic reviews on healthcare worker debriefing practices and analyses of stressors in criminal justice personnel. He has authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters since 2017, addressing topics like preregistration in research and evidence-based practice.
Awarded the Associate Fellowship (BPS) and Senior Fellowship (Advance HE), Dr Clements bridges academic research with practical applications through consultancy and editorial roles, including interim editorship of the Occupational Psychology Outlook.
