Andrew Camilli is a Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbiology at the Tufts University School of Medicine. His research focuses on understanding the life cycles of mucosal pathogens like Vibrio cholerae and Streptococcus pneumoniae, with aims to develop vaccines and treatments. He holds a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania (1992) and a BS from the University of Michigan (1985). His work includes pioneering studies on phage therapy, bacterial gene expression during infection, and desiccation survival mechanisms in pathogens.
