His publications from 1994 to 2015 demonstrate a consistent focus on British social history, with articles examining female violence, youth culture, and working-class politics. These works appear in leading history journals and reflect interdisciplinary approaches combining history, gender studies, and criminology.
Among his accolades are the Atherton Award for Excellence in Teaching (2008), the Chief Ogontz Award (2005), and the Scholar Award (2001) from Penn State Abington.
In addition to his research, Dr. August has been deeply involved in teaching and academic leadership, including roles as Honors Coordinator and Program Chair for History. He teaches a range of courses from introductory humanities to advanced seminars on European history.
