Andrew A. Chien is the William Eckhardt Distinguished Service Professor of Computer Science at the University of Chicago and a Senior Computer Scientist at Argonne National Laboratory. He leads the Large-Scale Sustainable Systems Group and directs the CERES Center for Unstoppable Computing. His research focuses on sustainable computing, cloud software/hardware, supercomputing architectures, and energy-efficient systems. Chien holds ACM, IEEE, and AAAS Fellowships and has served on advisory boards for NSF, DARPA, and multiple universities. He previously led Intel’s Research division, founded Entropia, and held professorships at UC San Diego and UIUC. His educational contributions include courses on sustainable computing, data-intensive systems, and computer architecture for scientists.
