Andreea Mironescu

Andreea Mironescu is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research affiliated with Alexandru Ioan Cuza University. She holds a PhD in Humanistic Studies – Philology (2012) from the same institution. Her research focuses on memory studies, generational memory, gendered memory, and Romanian literature, particularly exploring the intersection of literature with critical theory and social activism. She co-initiated the Perspectives in Humanities and Social Sciences conference series in 2013 and served as a postdoctoral fellow at the Romanian Academy (2014-2015). Mironescu’s work bridges Romanian literary traditions with global frameworks, analyzing post-communist narratives, cultural memory configurations, and intermedial approaches to history. She contributes to international academic societies such as the Memory Studies Association and Modern Language Association.

Her research interests emphasize the novel of memory as a world genre, interdisciplinary methodologies in literary studies, and contested cultural identities in post-communist contexts.
