Andreas Walmsley is an Associate Professor at Marjon University, serving as Head of the Marjon Doctoral College and a core member of the Business teaching team. He holds affiliations with Neapolis University Cyprus as a Research Fellow and convenes the SCION Research Group. His research focuses on entrepreneurship education, sustainable employment, and tourism policy, with notable contributions to journals like Entrepreneurship Education and Pedagogy. Walmsley has extensive international teaching experience across six UK institutions and has validated programs in multiple countries. He supervises PhD students in entrepreneurship, sustainability, and responsible business practices. His work bridges academia and industry, emphasizing practical applications of entrepreneurship education.
Education: PhD from Leeds Metropolitan University; Postgraduate Certificates in Coaching and Academic Practice from York St John University; BSc in Tourism Management from the University of Plymouth.
Research interests include entrepreneurship pedagogy, mentorship in higher education, and the socio-economic impacts of tourism. He has authored/co-authored over 60 publications, including books like Entrepreneurship in Tourism and Youth Employment in Tourism and Hospitality. Walmsley's recent work explores the legitimacy of entrepreneurship educators and the role of critical pedagogy in fostering entrepreneurial mindsets.
His articles highlight themes such as mentorship benefits, employability outcomes of entrepreneurship education, and tourism labor market dynamics. He actively contributes to academic conferences and editorial boards, advocating for sustainable practices in education and tourism.
