Prof. Andreas Uebele is a faculty member at Hochschule Düsseldorf, affiliated with the Peter Behrens School of Arts within the Faculty of Architecture and Design. He has been a Professor of Communications Design since 1998, contributing significantly to visual communication education and practice.
His research and professional work focus on graphic design, typography, layout, and conceptual design. As a practitioner and academic, he bridges theoretical and applied design disciplines, emphasizing craft and conceptual rigor.
Andreas Uebele is a member of several prestigious design organizations, including:
- Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), since 2007
- Type Directors Club of New York, since 2002
- Art Directors Club of New York, since 2002
- Bund Deutscher Grafik-Designer (BDG), since 2009
His work is represented in major international collections such as the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Museum of Modern Art Toyama, Chicago Athenaeum, Museion Bolzano, and the Kunstbibliothek Berlin. In 2015, he was awarded a scholarship at Villa Massimo in Rome.
He studied architecture and urban planning at the University of Stuttgart and art at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design. He founded his own visual communications agency in Stuttgart in 1996. His academic and professional activities include active participation in the cooperative development of artistic, design-based, and scientific research and teaching.
