Andreas Trumpp

Prof. Dr. Andreas Trumpp is a leading stem cell and cancer researcher at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and serves as the Managing Director of HI-STEM (Heidelberg Institute for Stem Cell Technology and Experimental Medicine). Since 2008, he has headed the Division of Stem Cells and Cancer, focusing on understanding the molecular mechanisms governing normal and malignant stem cells.

His lab’s work on the SHATTER-AML project, funded by an ERC Advanced Grant (2022), aims to develop precision therapies for cancers with structural genetic defects.

Scientific accolades include being invited to deliver the Ham-Wasserman Lecture (2022) at the American Society of Hematology (ASH) meeting, a prestigious honor recognizing his global impact in hematology.
