معرفی
Prof. Andreas Kremling is a Professor for Systems Biotechnology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), affiliated with the Department of Energy and Process Engineering within the TUM School of Engineering and Design. His research focuses on integrating theoretical and experimental approaches to solve biotechnological challenges, emphasizing mathematical modeling for optimal bioprocess design. Key areas include bacterial systems like Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas putida, and Halomonas elongata, with newer work on phototrophic-heterotrophic bacterial co-cultures for bioplastic production from light and CO₂.
Prof. Kremling studied Technical Cybernetics at the University of Stuttgart, earning his Diplom-Ingenieur in 1992. He completed his doctorate in Stuttgart (2002) and habilitation at the University of Magdeburg (2009). Prior to joining TUM in 2010, he conducted systems biology research at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems (1998–2009). His work bridges computational modeling (e.g., coarse-grained models for metabolic engineering) and experimental validation, addressing topics like carbon fixation pathways and microbial process optimization.
Recent publications highlight advancements in synthetic co-culture systems, computational analysis of carbon fixation, and metabolic engineering strategies for bioproduct synthesis. His research aligns with TUM’s focus on sustainable bioprocesses and white biotechnology.
