Andreas Klein is a researcher at the Department of Historical Linguistics of German, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. He has been an Assistant to Prof. Dr. Damaris Nübling since August 2020, following roles as a research assistant (2017–2020) and lecturer (summer 2017). His research focuses on morphosyntax, West Central German dialectology, and language change, particularly grammaticalization. He holds a Master of Education (2017) from Mainz University. Klein has received prestigious teaching awards: the 2024 Rhineland-Palatinate state prize and the 2022 university prize. His work includes publications on Alemannic dialects, gender-neutral language, and pronominal systems. Courses taught include historical linguistics and dialect morphology. He actively contributes to academic discourse through lectures at institutions like the Universities of Dortmund and Marburg.
