Professor Andreas Grünewald serves as Head of the Working Group for Didactics of Romance Languages at the University of Bremen's Faculty of Linguistics and Literature since 2010. His roles include supervising Master's theses and dissertations, overseeing teacher training programs for French and Spanish, and holding multiple governance positions within the university.
His research focuses on Foreign Language Didactics, particularly exploring multimedia integration in language teaching, digital sovereignty for educators, and science communication strategies for making language education research accessible. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical classroom applications, especially in Romance language instruction.
Grünewald's recent publications reveal strong trends in digital educational transformation, with emphasis on YouTube-based learning, AI integration, and developing teachers' critical technology literacy. His work consistently connects language pedagogy with broader educational technology movements while maintaining subject-specific focus on Romance languages.
