Andreas Gofas is a Professor of International Relations at Panteion University of Athens and Director of the European Cultural Centre of Delphi. He holds prominent academic roles, including Academic Representative of Greece at the High Council of the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence and Co-Director of the Olympia Summer Academy. He has served as President of the High Council of the EUI and held research fellowships at institutions such as NYU School of Law, Yale University, and the London School of Economics.
His research focuses on International Relations Theory, Terrorism Studies, European Security Governance, and Political Theology. Key works include *The Oxford Handbook of Terrorism* and co-edited volumes on international relations history and theoretical debates. He critically examines the role of ideas in political analysis, emphasizing ideational explanations over materialist approaches, and explores the intersection of religion and global politics.
Publications span terrorism’s theoretical and practical dimensions, democratic governance trade-offs, and media narratives reinforcing neoliberalism.
