Andreas Beyer

Prof. Dr. Andreas Beyer is a full Professor of Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Westfälische Hochschule, Recklinghausen campus. He has been a permanent faculty member since 2010, having served as a lecturer and then professor since 2006.

His educational background includes a Diploma and PhD in Biology from Ruhr-Universität Bochum, with research focused on molecular enzymology and AAA ATPases. His professional experience includes postdoctoral research at the same institution, leading a cDNA sequencing group at the University of Düsseldorf, and roles in R&D for private companies before joining academia.

Prof. Beyer leads the AG EvoBio (Evolution in Biology, Culture & Society) research group. His teaching portfolio is extensive, covering core and advanced topics in molecular biology, immunology, clinical chemistry, human genetics, molecular forensics, bioethics, genetic engineering methods, and virology for both bachelor's and master's students.

His laboratory is located in rooms B5.2.256-261, and his office is in B7.1.312. He collaborates with external research groups, such as from the University of Bochum, on student laboratory projects.
