Andreas Antelid is a researcher affiliated with the Center for Critical Heritage Studies and Heritage Academy. He holds an MA and is a licensed teacher, specializing in applying postcolonial theories to historical and archaeological works while analyzing nationalistic tendencies in early 20th-century Swedish archaeology.
In 2016, he co-authored the article "Whose History - Why Archaeology Matters" in Heritage, Democracy and the Public - Nordic Approaches, which explores archaeology's role in fostering inclusion within cultural heritage and societal integration. He presented this research as a poster at the ACHS 2016 conference under the theme "Heritage as an Agent of Change." His work intersects with critical heritage studies, focusing on contested heritage, migration, and the democratization of cultural narratives.
Antelid participated in multiple ACHS 2016 sessions, including discussions on landscape and place attachment, migration in European museums, and community-led heritage stewardship. His contributions highlight the dynamic negotiation of heritage between official discourses and grassroots perspectives across global-local divides.
