Andrea Urice

Andrea Urice serves as Teaching Professor of Drama and Director of Undergraduate Studies in Drama at Washington University in St. Louis. She received the College of Arts and Sciences' Excellence in Teaching Award for her innovative approaches to theater education. Urice co-directs the university's Shakespeare's Globe Summer Program in London, providing students with international performance experience.

Her research focuses on contemporary directing techniques and actor training methodologies. Urice has directed numerous departmental productions including works by Backhaus, Letts, Churchill, Gurira, Sater, Sheik, Mee, Beckett, and Wallace. She maintains professional connections with regional theaters, having directed premieres for the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.

Urice holds an MFA in Drama with directing emphasis from the University of Virginia, where she was a Jacob K. Javits Fellow. Her professional credits include work with Actors Theatre of Louisville, Guthrie Theater, Theatre X, Steppenwolf Theatre, Goodman Theatre, and Organic Theatre.
