معرفی
PD Dr. Andrea Straßer serves as a Senior Academic Councillor (Akademische Oberrätin) at the Institute of Pharmacy within the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Regensburg, holding Privatdozent status that grants independent teaching authority alongside her research leadership.
Her research program centers on molecular modeling of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), encompassing ligand docking, homology modeling, and molecular dynamics simulations. She investigates biogenic amine receptor interactions with the Ga-subunit and develops histamine H1/H4-receptor ligands through integrated molecular modeling, chemical synthesis, and pharmacological characterization.
Dr. Straßer leads a research team comprising Dr. H.-J. Wittmann and S. Groß, with primary funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG) for the "GPCR activation" project.
Her collaborative network spans multiple institutions:
- Prof. Dr. R. Seifert, Hannover Medical School
- Prof. Dr. M. Heinrich, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg
- Prof. Dr. H. Ammer, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich
- Prof. Dr. S. Elz, University of Regensburg
- Prof. Dr. A. Göpferich, University of Regensburg
- Prof. Dr. I. W. Wainer, National Institute on Aging, Baltimore
