Andrea Schmidt

Andrea Schmidt is a Lecturer at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) and serves as Head of Education Organisation in the Academic Office. She has taught at MOME since 2008, co-created the Business to Design programme, and acts as a methodological expert for educational development initiatives. With a dual background in sociology and economics, she brings nearly 30 years of teaching experience across higher education institutions, adult education centers, and advanced study colleges.

Her research spans:

• Educational Innovation: Curriculum development, pedagogy enhancement, and talent nurturing.
• Social Design: Incubation support for design ventures and empowerment of marginalized groups.
• Applied Economics: Business development strategies integrated with creative disciplines.

Notable leadership includes:

• Technical lead for Facilitating the Development of Student Skills in Public Education, pioneering design thinking in Hungarian schools.
• Project lead for the MOME+ university mentor programme.
• Supervision of Design Thinking in Public Education initiatives.

She mentors emerging designers globally and drives institutional educational frameworks.
