Andrea Pritchard Kennedy is an Associate Professor at Mount Royal University's School of Nursing & Midwifery within the Faculty of Health, Community & Education. She holds a PhD in Nursing and is a registered nurse committed to advancing Indigenous health and education equity through decolonizing practices. Her work integrates co-learning and two-eyed seeing methodologies, emphasizing collaboration with Indigenous communities.
Educational Background: PhD (Nursing), Masters (Nursing), Bachelors (Nursing & Arts). Her research focuses on reconciliation in higher education and healthcare, Indigenous health nursing, and family-centred partnerships in pediatric care. She leads a local-to-global field school program and has contributed to projects like the Kimma Pi Pitsin reconciliation resource developed with Indigenous Elders and students.
Publications highlight her work in nursing leadership, community health promotion, and innovative educational tools for children with chronic illnesses. She actively engages in community service through roles like co-founder of the Indigenous Health Community of Practice and membership in Alberta Health Services' Indigenous Health Program Wisdom Council.
Her teaching emphasizes health equity and leadership, with expertise in child health and community partnerships. Current initiatives include social innovation projects aimed at systemic reconciliation in healthcare and education.
