Her work is conducted at Salford Royal Hospital and focuses on non-invasive imaging techniques to study skin and blood vessel structure/function in systemic sclerosis. She holds a MPhys (Physics) and PhD (Physics) and completed a Versus Arthritis Career Development Fellowship (2011-2017).
Research interests include light-tissue interaction, microvascular disease, and developing imaging methods to track disease progression. Her interdisciplinary approach involves collaborations with clinical and physics teams. Notable projects include piloting treatments for systemic sclerosis-related conditions and advancing capillaroscopy techniques. She is a member of professional bodies such as the British Microcirculation Society and European Society for Microcirculation.
Recent work includes studies on capillaroscopy in COVID-19 patients and clinical trials for new treatments like vipoglanstat and C21.
