Andrea M. Cook

Andrea M. Cook is a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at George Washington University (GWU), affiliated with the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences. Her expertise lies in organic chemistry, particularly in synthetic organic chemistry and the development of enantioselective C—C bond formation reactions. She has taught organic chemistry at Trinity Washington University for five years and is actively involved in curriculum development for chemistry education.

Dr. Cook earned her PhD in synthetic organic chemistry from Georgetown University under the supervision of Christian Wolf. Her research focused on novel reactions using alkyne and ynamide nucleophiles. She is based at the Science & Engineering Hall in Washington, D.C., and her work bridges advanced chemical synthesis with pedagogical innovation.
