Eva Rivera Chao

Eva Rivera Chao is a postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the Research Center in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials (CIQUS) at the University of Santiago de Compostela. Her work focuses on organic synthesis and catalysis, particularly in developing novel methodologies for borylation reactions, alkyne activation, and pharmaceutical labeling. She completed her PhD in 2022 under the supervision of Dr. Martin Fañanas Mastral, with a thesis titled New synthetic routes towards 1,4-dienylboronates via catalytic alkyne allylboration reactions.

Research Interests: Eva specializes in organometallic catalysis, with a focus on asymmetric allylboration, photocatalytic C–B bond formation, and stereoselective synthesis of functionalized dienes. Her work bridges synthetic chemistry and medicinal chemistry, particularly in late-stage pharmaceutical labeling techniques like deuteration and borylation.

Publications Trends: Eva’s recent research highlights excited-state basicity in deuteration selectivity, photocatalytic strategies for nucleophilic boryl radicals, and synergistic bimetallic systems for carboboration. Her work frequently involves copper and palladium catalysis, with applications in drug development and molecular material synthesis.
