Andrea Lucca Fabris

Dr. Andrea Lucca Fabris is a Senior Lecturer in Electric Propulsion at the Surrey Space Centre, part of the University of Surrey's School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering. His research focuses on plasma propulsion systems, plasma physics, and industrial applications of plasma technology. He holds a PhD in Space Sciences from the University of Padua and has conducted research at Stanford University as a visiting PhD student and postdoctoral fellow.

His educational background includes bachelor's and master's degrees in Aerospace Engineering (with honours) from the University of Padua. Prior to joining Surrey in 2016, he worked at Stanford University from 2014 to 2015 as a postdoctoral research fellow.

Recent research highlights include developing novel plasma thrusters, high-fidelity orbital control systems for Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO) satellites, and trajectory optimization for lunar-enabled space missions. His work bridges fundamental plasma physics with practical aerospace engineering applications.
