Andrea Joslyn Nightingale is a Professor in Sociology and Human Geography at the University of Oslo, part of the Faculty of Social Sciences. She holds a PhD from the University of Minnesota and previously held faculty positions at the University of Edinburgh, University of Gothenburg, and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Her research focuses on political ecology, climate change adaptation, and the intersection of gender, caste, and class in environmental governance. She has conducted long-term fieldwork in Nepal, expanding to Scotland, Kenya, and Nicaragua.
