Dr. Hall's research program critically examines gender representation across media ecosystems, with specific focus on women's political coverage, gendered branding in sports under NIL policies, and performative parenthood narratives on social platforms. She integrates pop culture analysis to explore celebrity influences on gendered media portrayals, connecting academic rigor with real-world cultural phenomena.
Her publication trends reveal consistent methodological approaches using content analysis to dissect media framing patterns, particularly regarding hashtags like #BoyMom and #GirlDad, while examining how digital platforms shape perceptions of gendered identities in politics and athletics.
Bringing over a decade of professional experience from community journalism, graphic design, and higher education marketing, Dr. Hall demonstrates practical synergies between journalism and public relations in content creation for her students.
She co-hosts the forthcoming Pink State podcast featuring interviews with women in politics to inspire female political participation, while maintaining active engagement with East Tennessee community as a native returning after 12+ years away.
