Andrea Gore

Dr. Andrea Gore is a Professor of Pharmacology & Toxicology and Vacek Chair in Pharmacology at the University of Texas at Austin, with a secondary appointment in Psychology. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research focuses on the neuroendocrine control of reproduction, effects of environmental endocrine disruptors (EDCs) on brain development, and hormonal influences on aging. Her lab investigates how EDCs like PCBs induce epigenetic changes and transgenerational impacts on brain structure and behavior. Techniques include behavioral analysis, neuroanatomy, immunohistochemistry, and molecular profiling. Recent work emphasizes developmental EDC exposure's role in sex-specific neurological outcomes and menopause-like models in aging female rats. Dr. Gore advocates for regulatory awareness of EDC risks through editorship roles and interdisciplinary collaboration.
