Andrea Erhardt

Dr. Andrea Erhardt is Associate Professor and Director of the Kentucky Stable Isotope Geochemistry Laboratory (KSIGL) in Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Kentucky. Her research applies isotopic tracers to study paleoceanography, environmental change, and biogeochemical cycles.

Current projects reconstruct hydroclimate using speleothem isotopes, analyze cave system calcium ratios, and investigate groundwater flow using isotopic signatures. Her group develops methods for preserving dissolved carbon species in challenging conditions.

As Director of Graduate Studies, she oversees academic programs and mentors students in geochemical techniques. Collaborative work includes paleolimnological studies of Sierra Nevada lakes and archaeological isotope applications.
