Andrea-Emilio Rizzoli

Andrea-Emilio Rizzoli is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science, Università della Svizzera italiana (USI), and a professor at SUPSI. He is a senior research scientist at the Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence Studies (IDSIA USI-SUPSI), a joint research institute between USI and SUPSI, where he contributes to advanced research in modeling, simulation, and decision support systems.

His research interests span the modeling and simulation of dynamic systems, decision support systems for logistics and natural resources, and the integration of artificial intelligence and operations research in environmental and industrial contexts. He focuses on developing software systems for integrated natural resource management and has contributed significantly to environmental modeling and decision-making frameworks.

Rizzoli has authored over 100 publications in these areas. His editorial and leadership roles include serving as editor for the journal Environmental Modeling & Software and as President of the International Environmental Modeling and Software Society (iEMSs) for the 2012–2014 biennium.
