Andrea Dickens is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of English at Arizona State University's Tempe campus. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Virginia (2005 and 2005, respectively), an M.F.A. in Poetry from Ohio State University (2013), an M.A.R. from Yale University (1998), and a B.A. from the University of Virginia (1994). She also earned an A.A. from Piedmont Virginia Community College in 2000. Her research focuses on sustainability in education, particularly exploring how contemplative pedagogies in composition classrooms enhance student engagement and long-term career success. She emphasizes working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and teaches a broad range of courses, including ENG 101, 102, 107, 108, 301, 302, and WAC 107.
