Andrea Calabrò

Andrea Calabrò is a Full Professor of Family Business & Entrepreneurship and Director of the Chair of Sustainable Family Business & Entrepreneurship at IPAG Business School, France. He also serves as Global Academic Director of the STEP (Successful Transgenerational Entrepreneurship Practices) Project Global Consortium since 2018. Previously, he held the Chair of Business Administration & Family Entrepreneurship at the University of Witten/Herdecke (Germany) from 2011 to 2017. He earned a Ph.D. in Management & Governance from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, Italy, and a Master in Innovation & Management from the same institution.

His research focuses on family business dynamics, internationalization strategies, corporate governance, and entrepreneurial succession. He has published extensively in top journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, and Journal of International Business Studies. He founded the Family Business Research Strategic Interest Group (FBR SIG) at EURAM and the International Family Business Research Forum (IFBRF). He also co-founded the ICSB Virtual Family Business Research & Practice Conference in 2020.

Calabrò’s teaching expertise spans family business management, entrepreneurship, strategic management, and governance. He has advised numerous academic initiatives and serves on editorial boards, including the Journal of Family Business Strategy from 2014–2020. His work emphasizes socioemotional wealth, intergenerational solidarity, and the global economic impact of family-owned enterprises.
