Andrea Brown is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for part-time, in-service Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Post Compulsory Education and Training (PCET) courses at the University of Sunderland. She holds a Master's degree in Human Resource Management (MSc, Distinction) and specializes in qualitative research on workplace mental wellbeing. Her roles include personal tutoring, curriculum management, and external quality assurance for vocational qualifications.
As the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Champion for the PCET/FES team, she actively contributes to university networks and sustainability initiatives, including a working group for sustainable curriculum development. Her teaching and research reflect her diverse career background in marketing, operations, and further education, emphasizing practical, industry-relevant approaches.
Andrea has supervised student dissertations in BA (Hons) Business and Human Resource Management and has held prior roles such as Apprenticeship Programme Leader (Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship). Her work bridges academic and professional sectors, focusing on the transformative impact of education in FE and skills development.
