Andrea Baer

Dr. Andrea Baer is an Associate Professor of Practice in the School of Information at the University of Texas-Austin. She teaches courses in librarianship, academic librarianship, information literacy, library instruction, and scholarly communication. Prior to joining the iSchool, she worked in academic libraries and instruction for over a decade and taught academic writing and research methodologies. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature and a Master's of Science in Information Sciences.

Her research explores:

• Critical frameworks for digital/information literacies
• Inclusive and affective dimensions of pedagogy
• Reflective teaching practices in library instruction
• Intersections of information literacy with writing studies
