Andrea Albuja is a Doctoral Researcher at Vlerick Business School and KU Leuven. She holds a Master’s in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship from the University of Manchester (UK) and a Master’s in Economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Her research focuses on entrepreneurial strategic decision-making, particularly resource allocation in young ventures, and explores challenges in entrepreneurship, behavioral economics, and financial risk management.
She contributes to the Centre for Excellence in Scale-Ups and collaborates on the annual Rising Star Monitor, a joint study with Deloitte analyzing high-growth tech ventures in Belgium. Her work has been featured in publications like the Rising Star Competition analysis (2024) and Covid-19 Impact on Scale-Ups (2021).
Previously, she served as Head of the Economic Risk Department at Produbanco (Ecuador), leveraging her banking and finance expertise. Her research bridges academic insights with practical challenges faced by entrepreneurs and scale-ups.
