Andrea A. Davis is a Professor in the Department of Humanities at York University's Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, with cross-appointments in Gender, Feminist and Women's Studies and Social and Political Thought. Her research examines literary and cultural productions across the Black diaspora.
Research Focus:
Professor Davis investigates:
- Comparative Black literatures of the Americas
- Intersectional feminist frameworks
- Black cultural expressions
- Indigenous-Black relations
Leadership:
She founded the Black Canadian Studies Certificate and chaired the 2023 Congress of Humanities and Social Sciences.
