Andre Fischer

Andre Fischer is a Professor and Group Leader at the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Göttingen, Germany. As a site spokesperson, he focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of brain diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease, and developing neuroregenerative therapeutic approaches.

His research investigates how epigenetic mechanisms—such as histone modification, DNA methylation, and non-coding RNA—mediate gene-environment interactions in neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases. By mapping disease-specific epigenetic signatures and studying chromatin-modifying enzymes, his work aims to identify novel drug targets and biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease progression.
