Andis Sofianos is a Professor in the Department of Economics at Durham University's Business School, joining as an Associate Professor in 2022. He holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Economics from the University of Warwick. His research integrates behavioral and experimental economics with psychology and neuroscience, focusing on how individual characteristics like intelligence and personality influence strategic interactions, trust, and cooperation. He has explored cryptocurrency market bubbles, belief updating during unforeseen events, and the role of anger in strategic behavior. Sofianos advises three PhD students and collaborates on interdisciplinary projects, including experimental studies on cryptocurrency pricing and decision-making processes.
