Andiara Schwingel

Andiara Schwingel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health at the University of Illinois. She also serves as Associate Head of the department and holds affiliations with multiple interdisciplinary centers including the Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies, Lemann Center for Brazilian Studies, and Center for Global Studies. Her research focuses on public health interventions targeting older adults, chronic disease management, and health disparities, with a particular emphasis on Latin American and African American populations. Schwingel leads projects on physical activity promotion, community health worker effectiveness, and the role of acculturation in cognitive health outcomes.
