Anderson Jeremiah's research centers on contemporary Christianity, particularly its expansion in the Global South. His work emphasizes postcolonial approaches, Dalit theology, contextual hermeneutics, and the socio-political implications of Christian growth in Asia and Africa. He explores how globalization, migration, and cultural hybridity shape religious identity and practice. His interests also include interfaith understanding, religious pluralism, and the intersection of religion and politics in South Asia.
His recent publications reflect a strong engagement with decolonial theology, ethics, and ecotheology. The articles demonstrate a trend toward challenging dominant Western theological paradigms and centering marginalized voices, particularly from Dalit and indigenous communities. His work bridges academic theology and public ethics, often addressing issues of justice, caste, race, and environmental responsibility.
Anderson Jeremiah has received research support through the FASS Early Career Small Grant and two Knowledge Exchange Fellowships (2013–2015 and 2014–2016). He supervises doctoral research in areas such as World Christianity, contextual theology, diaspora studies, and religion and politics. While no formal list of students is provided, he actively welcomes PhD candidates in these fields.
He is involved in several external roles: Trustee of the Church Urban Fund and St. Augustine Foundation, Member of the Archbishop's Committee for Minority Ethnic Anglican Concerns, and Associate Priest at St. Paul's Church, Scotforth. He has participated in numerous international academic events, including conferences at Yale, Humboldt University, and the European Association for the Study of Religions, reflecting his global scholarly engagement.
