Anders Lund Hansen is an Associate Professor of Human Geography at Lund University and serves as the academic director of the HUGE master programme. He is also a Guest Professor at Space, place, mobility and urban studies (MOSPUS), IMT, Roskilde University (2023-2026), and serves as Project leader and PI for CO-HOPE, JPI Urban Europe, H2020 (2022-2023).
Dr. Lund Hansen's research focuses on critical urban studies, with particular expertise in urban political geography, urban political economy, and visual methodologies. His work examines gentrification processes, housing policies, urban planning, and alternative urbanisms, often through the lens of social geography. A significant portion of his research has centered on Christiania, the autonomous neighborhood in Copenhagen, where he has served as a steering group member of the Christiania Researcher in Residence project since 2007. His approach combines theoretical rigor with innovative visual methods to understand complex urban phenomena and governance structures.
His recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on urban governance, alternative communities, and the politics of public space, particularly through his work on Christiania. These works employ visual methodologies to document and analyze urban cultures and governance practices in unique urban settings.
