Dr. Keld Buciek is an Associate Professor at Roskilde University (RUC), affiliated with ENS PAC (Environmental, Natural Sciences and Planning) and the Mobility, Space, Place and Urban Studies (MOSPUS) research centre. He holds an MSc in Human Geography and a PhD in Social Sciences, both from Copenhagen and Roskilde Universities. His work focuses on cultural geography, urban studies, and postcolonial theory, exploring how spatial representations shape identity and power dynamics.
Research interests include cultural heritage, nature policy, and qualitative methodologies such as visual ethnography. He has led projects like the Skjern Å National Park initiative and contributed to interregional planning via the InterReg IV A programme. Editorially, he oversees peer reviews for Literary Geographies and Norsk Geografisk Tidsskrift.
Key areas of exploration include the interplay between travel narratives and cultural identity, the politics of place-making in postcolonial contexts, and the socio-spatial dimensions of national parks. His work bridges theoretical inquiry with practical applications in urban and cultural planning.
