Andargachew Zelleke is the MBA Class of 1962 Senior Lecturer of Business Administration at Harvard Business School (HBS), affiliated with the General Management unit and serving as Faculty Chair of HBS’ Middle East & North Africa Research Center. He has held roles in corporate governance education, FIELD program leadership, and executive education since 2011. His research focuses on US-China relations, corporate governance structures, and leadership strategies.
- Education: PhD in Organizational Behavior (Harvard), JD (Harvard Law School), A.B. in Government (Harvard College)
- Professional Experience: Former Lecturer at Wharton School, Co-Director of Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership, and consultant to law firms in corporate governance litigation.
Research interests include the intersection of business and government, geopolitical strategy, and corporate board dynamics. His op-eds address topics like US-China rivalry, leadership crises, and international policy. He has published widely in journals like Harvard Business Review and Corporate Governance, and authored case studies on global business environments in countries like Rwanda, Egypt, and South Korea.
Awards include the Robert F. Greenhill Award (2016 and 2021) for service to HBS. He serves on corporate boards for Eastern Bankshares and Eastern Bank. His recent teaching includes an elective on US-China rivalry and contributions to the HBS-Harvard Kennedy School joint degree program.
