Ananda Ganguly is the Morcos Massoud Associate Professor of Accounting and George R. Roberts Fellow at Claremont McKenna College's Robert Day School of Economics and Finance. His expertise spans Accounting Information Systems, Cost Management, Behavioral Decision Making, and Cognitive Psychology. He holds a B.Comm (Honors in Accounting) from St. Xavier's College, University of Calcutta, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Accounting & Economic Decision Making) from the University of Pittsburgh.
His research focuses on behavioral economics in accounting contexts, including anticipatory utility, information aversion, and experimental studies in auditing. His work has been featured in Management Science, Accounting, Organizations & Society, and Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory.
Notable awards include the BLAIS Challenge Award (2012), multiple teaching recognitions (e.g., Who's Who Among America's Teachers, 2000), and the Arthur Andersen Dissertation Fellowship (1993). His media coverage includes NPR segments and features in The Atlantic.
Teaching interests include Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Strategic Cost Management. His research explores intersections between psychology and economics in financial decision-making.
