Professor Anand Ganesan is a cardiac electrophysiologist and clinician-scientist at Flinders University. He serves as Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology at Flinders Medical Centre and leads the Cardiac Signals Analysis Laboratory. His research focuses on biophysics-based approaches to mapping and treating atrial fibrillation (AF), particularly through phase singularities and renewal theory analysis.
His academic credentials include an MBBS (University of Sydney, 2000), PhD (Johns Hopkins University, 2006), FRACP in Cardiology (Westmead Hospital, 2010), and postdoctoral work at the University of Adelaide (2011-2014). He has secured major grants such as the MRFF 2016029 and NHMRC Ideas Grant (2022-2027).
Recent publications emphasize AF dynamics, power-law markers for cardiovascular events, and innovations in respirator fit testing. His team has demonstrated statistically characterizable phase singularities in AF and developed the first real-time signal processing software for clinical electrophysiology laboratories.
