Dr. Anamaria Nicolae is an Associate Professor in the Durham University Business School and leads the Economics Department's Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives. She is Deputy Director of the Centre for Banking, Institutions and Development (CBID). Her research focuses on international trade, monetary economics, and macroeconomic policy, with notable contributions to understanding disinflation impacts, financial literacy, and post-crisis productivity trends. Collaborations include work with the Bank of England and leading the REF2021 Impact Case Study on trade agreements' economic implications.
Her teaching excellence is recognized through multiple Dean’s Awards, instructing modules such as International Economics and International Trade and Finance at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
