Anabel Von Jackowski is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stockholm University's Department of Environmental Science and Analytical Chemistry Biogeochemistry (ACESb). Her work focuses on the interaction between organic matter and microorganisms, with emphasis on seasonal dynamics in the Fram Strait, Kara Sea, and Mediterranean Sea, and the effects of ocean acidification on Arctic microbial communities.
- Stockholm University, Department of Environmental Science and Analytical Chemistry Biogeochemistry (ACESb)
- Co-organizer for ECOP BlueCaD Project and Gordon Research Seminar Marine Microbes 2026
- Active in science communication through 'Wellenbrecher' podcast and educational outreach
Her research spans marine microbial ecology, biogeochemical processes, and climate change impacts on polar regions. Key projects include studying microbial community responses to acidification and Atlantification trends, with publications in Scientific Reports, Environmental Science & Technology, and Environmental Microbiology. Articles highlight interactions between organic matter dynamics and microbial ecology in changing marine environments.
Scientific recognition includes her BioGeoScapes Fellowship. She has presented at major conferences including Gordon Research Conference, AGU Fall Meeting, and International Symposium on Microbial Ecology. Outreach activities range from high school teaching in Germany to expedition content creation for public engagement.
