معرفی
Chie Amano is a researcher affiliated with the Faculty of Life Sciences and the Department of Functional and Evolutionary Ecology. Her work spans marine microbiology and ecology, focusing on zooplankton, deep-sea microbial activity, and environmental interactions.
- Education: MSc, PhD
Her research explores the ecological roles of pelagic fungi in ocean biomass, bacterial decomposition of organic matter in marine environments, and metaproteomic analysis of dark ocean microbial communities. She has contributed to projects like TACKLE, which investigates archaeal evolution and the prokaryote-to-eukaryote transition.
Recent publications include studies on fungal contributions to global ocean biogeochemistry (Cell, 2025), bacterial degradation of ctenophore organic matter (mSystems, 2024), and microbial trophic interactions in the dark ocean (Nature Communications, 2024). She participated in the POSEIDON Cruise (Feb–Apr 2019), a marine research expedition.
