Anab Jain

Anab Jain is a Professor of Design Investigations at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, where she emphasizes radical inquiry in design education. She co-founded the award-winning studio Superflux with Jon Ardern, pioneering speculative design and critical foresight methodologies for clients like Google AI, the United Nations Development Program, and governments of UAE and UK. Her work bridges design, technology, and climate resilience, creating immersive simulations to explore futures impacted by ecological crises.

Her research focuses on speculative and futures design, using design fiction and experiential futures to address climate change challenges such as urban floods and food shortages. She advocates for redefining design practices in an uncertain world, promoting concepts like 'design for the new normal' and 'more-than-human centered design' to challenge human exceptionalism and expand public imagination.

Hypothetical worlds created by Anab and her team have been exhibited globally, including at MoMA (New York), La Biennale di Venezia, Barbican, and V&A. These installations materialize speculative scenarios, offering tangible strategies for navigating a climate-altered present.
